Another short statement that you can use for promotional copy and advertising is to create a USP, a unique selling proposition. This is a short brief statement that shows what sets your service or product apart from the competition.

Goal: To create a short statement of what sets you apart from your competition.

Why is this important?: This can be used on landing pages and ad copy to help quickly clarify to your audience what set you apart from the competition. This exercise also requires you to think about what really sets you apart from other coaches and consultants.

Exercise: Set a time for 20 minutes and complete the following statement.

USP Statement 1:
For [Your Ideal Client] who are [problem you solve], [I or your business] am/is [what sets you apart] that [does what] unlike other [coaches/competitors] [I or your business] am/is [differentiator].

Example: For men between the ages of 60-70 who are looking to get into the best shape of their life, I am the leading health coach and nutritionist that provides the very best workout and nutrition plans that help you achieve your weight lifting and performance goals, unlike other coaches, I am the only record-breaking weightlifting champion in the world between the ages of 65-70 and can show you how to achieve your goals naturally.
