Why Your LinkedIn Content Isn’t Landing (And What To Do About It)

What to Know About LinkedIn Impressions

Most coaches and consultants want to show up on LinkedIn in a way that builds trust, showcases their expertise, and actually drives leads.

But too many settle for content that is just... fine.

Fine is consistent but forgettable. Fine is visible but doesn't convert. Fine ticks the box without truly reflecting the depth of your work or the power of your message.

Here's what "good" really looks like when it comes to LinkedIn content that moves your business forward.

Why Your Content Is Your Digital Handshake

In a noisy space, your content is often your first impression. It's your handshake, your pitch, and your follow-up all rolled into one.

But here's what we see happening: Coaches and consultants are overwhelmed. They're wearing too many hats, defaulting to what's easy or popular. They think "something is better than nothing" and hit publish without a plan.

The result? Generic content that doesn't reflect their expertise or the unique value they bring. It fades into the feed instead of standing out as a beacon for the right people. And now more than ever… people need “real” human connection and conversation.

What Good Actually Looks Like

High quality content that converts has three non-negotiables:

  1. A Clear Point of View

It says something real. It doesn't hedge or play it safe. You take a stance on your industry, your beliefs, or your approach. This makes you memorable and attracts aligned clients who think, "Finally, someone who gets it."

  1. An Authentic Voice

People want to know YOU, not a sanitized version of you. The best content sounds like a real human with real experience. It mirrors how you'd speak in a coaching or consulting session. That authenticity creates familiarity and deepens connection before you ever meet.

  1. Strategic Storytelling

Good content uses stories to build connection and clarity. It doesn't just say "here's what I do"... it shows it through moments, transformations, and insights. Stories help people see what it's like to work with you.

Red Flags That Your Content Needs Work

If your content feels like any of these, it's time to raise the bar:

AI-sounding output that reads like everyone else's
Playing it too safe and not showing your real personality
Overly salesy content that pushes people away instead of pulling them in

A Real Example That Changed Everything

We saw this transformation recently in Expert Content Society.

One member joined posting very generic content. Technically correct but emotionally flat. Their incredible story, depth of skill, and what made them different? Nowhere to be found. They blended in completely.

But once we worked on refining their voice and strategy, everything shifted. They began sharing personal stories, naming strong opinions, and showcasing expertise in a way that felt aligned and bold.

The result? DMs started coming in. Quality leads appeared. Genuine engagement from the right people who said, "I totally resonate with what you’re saying”.

That's the power of good content. It doesn't just fill your feed... it fills your pipeline.

Here's the Truth

If you're tired of posting content that looks fine but feels off, you're not alone.

You don't need more tips or templates. You need a clear, confident voice and a strategy that reflects your brilliance.

What's one piece of content you've posted recently that truly felt like YOU? Drop it in the comments... we'd love to celebrate what authentic looks like.
