How the Right Questions Lead To The Best Answers

In business and in life, the questions we ask often matter more than the answers we chase.
It’s not about knowing everything, it’s about being willing to pause and ask better.

That shift in thinking changed everything for me.

The Moment That Made Me Stop

I hit a wall.. not a dramatic crash, but the slow, grinding feeling of spinning my tires. Progress stalled. Energy drained. It wasn’t burnout, exactly, but a nagging sense that something wasn’t working.

Then I asked myself:
“If nothing changes, what happens in 6 months?”

It hit hard. I realized that without change, I’d be in the same place still stuck, still questioning, still tired. That one question brought clarity and a sense of urgency I’d been avoiding. It snapped me out of autopilot and forced a deeper look at my choices, habits, and direction.

I saw where I was overcommitting, where I was playing small, and where I was hiding behind "busy" instead of making meaningful progress. That moment gave me permission to do things differently.

Why This Matters to You

If you’re a service professional growing your business on LinkedIn, you know the feeling:
You’re showing up, posting, networking… but sometimes it still feels like you’re not gaining traction. That’s where better questions come in. They cut through the noise and reconnect you with purpose.

They help you:

  • Reconnect with the bigger picture

  • Clarify what really matters right now

  • Get out of overwhelm and into aligned action

When you start asking better questions, you stop reacting and start leading. You stop spinning your wheels and start building something with intention.

Questions That Move the Needle

Here are a few questions I use regularly… with myself, with clients, and with peers, to move from stuck to clear:

  • What do you want your life and business to look like 5 years from now?
This question grounds you in long-term vision. Without it, short-term decisions can pull you off course.

  • How are you staying focused, to achieve your goals?
It’s easy to get distracted. This question brings your attention back to priorities and focus.

  • What are you avoiding and what’s it costing you?
Avoidance always comes at a cost. This question is an invitation to face what’s uncomfortable.

  • What do you want to be known for?
Especially on LinkedIn, your content and presence should reflect this.

  • What’s one thing you can do this week to move the needle?
Clarity is great. Action creates momentum.

These aren’t just reflections, they’re tools.

Ask them often. Let them guide your next step.
